Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get started?
Place an order here. You will fill out a short questionnaire and project agreement. Upload your clips to the shared folder on DropBox (see below) within 7 days so I can turn your videos into a keepsake you’ll watch over and over! A deposit of half is due upon ordering. The balance will be due as soon as the project is complete.
How do I upload my clips?
I will send you an email invite to a shared folder on Dropbox. You will upload your clips to the folder from your computer or phone. The link will expire in 7 days, so please have all clips ready to go before ordering your film.
How long will it take to receive my finished film?
Turnaround time is usually 2-4 weeks after you have uploaded all of your clips. During busy seasons, additional time may be required.
Will you use all the clips in my film?
More than likely, not all of your clips will make it into the final film. This is dependent on how many clips you upload, the content of each clip, and the length of the film you have chosen. Each type of film has a clip maximum, but I have built in space to allow me to cull for you in order to save time and the headache of having to review each clip. For example, if you want me to make a film about your trip to Disney, you would upload ALL of the clips you took during your vacation (as long as you are not over the clip limit). Then I will watch each clip to determine which ones would be best to include in your video. Clips will be cut according to my discretion.
What if there are background noises or voices in my clip?
No worries! I mute most clips. I occasionally add sounds of people or children talking, laughing, reading, etc. throughout your film when it adds to the storytelling.
Can I choose my own song(s)?
Due to song licensing and copyright rules, most mainstream music will not be available to use. I use a paid music subscription service and carefully select music that fits the personality and vibe of your film. If you have a specific song in mind, I would be happy to discuss individual song licenses for an additional fee.
How can I watch my finished film?
You will receive a link to a .mov file that can be downloaded to your phone, tablet, or computer. This link can also be shared with family and friends to view and download as well. You can stream from your phone to your TV using an HDMI adapter or Apple TV AirPlay. Another great idea is to start a private YouTube channel where you can upload all of your films to one place for easy, accessible viewing as often as you’d like. If you want to have your film burned to a DVD for gifting purposes or physical long-term storage, this option is available for an additional fee.
